The General Registrar of the University of Zakho, Dr. Pishtivan Mohammed Amin Karim, represented the university in a specialized workshop titled “Strengthening a Sustainable Living Environment.”
The workshop took place on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, and was organized by the Rwanga Foundation for the staff of the Directorate of Migration and Displacement in Zakho, as part of the project “Strengthening a Sustainable Living Environment.”
This project focuses on the issues of migration and return, and the Rwanga Foundation organized a three-day training program for the employees of the Directorate to enhance their professional capacities.
Throughout the workshop, several important topics were covered, including internal and external migration policies, data collection and analysis, monitoring and verification mechanisms, coordination and communication, and principles of crisis and risk management.
The main goal of the workshop was to develop the professional skills of the participating staff, enabling them to address migration-related challenges effectively and facilitate the reintegration of returnees within their communities.
The project “Strengthening a Sustainable Living Environment” is implemented by the Rwanga Foundation, with financial support from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark.
